The Nothing Phone (2) is set to make its debut soon, and it has been confirmed that this upcoming smartphone with a transparent design will be manufactured in India, unlike its predecessor, the Nothing Phone (1). The official launch is approaching, and the company has announced that the Nothing Phone (2) will be available for sale on Flipkart in India. It is expected that the smartphone will be priced under Rs 40,000 in the Indian market.

In an official statement, Manu Sharma, the Vice President and General Manager of Nothing India, expressed, "Nothing smartphones are renowned for their iconic transparent design. The manufacturing processes and precision engineering involved in creating these designs have contributed to the advancement of smartphone manufacturing capabilities in India. Our decision to manufacture in India is a testament to our dedication to the local consumers and their needs. We are delighted to announce that the Phone (2) will be made in India."

During an interview with the Indian Express, Sharma revealed that the Nothing Phone (2) will be manufactured by BYDa Electronic, a Shenzhen-based manufacturer, in Tamil Nadu. Furthermore, Nothing CEO Carl Pei disclosed in an interview with Forbes that the global launch of the Nothing Phone (2) is scheduled for July.

The Nothing Phone (2) is expected to be priced below Rs 40,000 when it arrives in India in July. This smartphone promises an eco-friendly approach to manufacturing as well.

The Nothing Phone (2) will be constructed using 100% recycled aluminum, 100% recycled copper foil, 100% recycled tin, 90% recycled steel, and 80% sustainably sourced plastic parts. Compared to its predecessor, it is estimated to incorporate three times more recycled or bio-based components.

Additionally, Nothing asserts that despite having a larger display and battery, the carbon footprint of the Nothing Phone (2) is 53.4kg, which is over 5kg lower than that of its predecessor. The company also claims that the Phone (2) will include three times the amount of recycled or bio-based components as compared to the Phone (1). Furthermore, the upcoming smartphone will be packaged in an environmentally friendly, plastic-free retail package that consists of over 60% recycled fiber.

Turning our attention to the specifications of the Nothing Phone (2), it has been confirmed that it will feature a display that is 0.15 inches larger than its predecessor's 6.55-inch screen. This implies that the Nothing Phone (2) will sport a 6.7-inch AMOLED panel with FHD+ resolution.

In terms of battery capacity, Nothing stated in a tweet that the upcoming handset will house a battery that is 200mAh bigger than the 4,500mAh battery found in the Nothing Phone (1). Therefore, we can conclude that the Nothing Phone (2) will be equipped with a 4,700mAh battery, as previously confirmed by the company's CEO.

Under the hood, the Nothing Phone (2) will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 SoC. Similar to its predecessor, the upcoming smartphone will receive three years of Android updates and four years of security updates.
